Kenzo’s La Fête: A Fashion Experience Beyond the Runway

Photography by Marion Félicité | ELETOM Magazine

Fashion Week often asks us to look forward. This season, KENZO invited guests to look both forward and back.

Returning to Place des Victoires, the Parisian address synonymous with Kenzo Takada’s creative legacy, the maison transformed the historic square into La Fête de Kenzo—a week-long celebration that extended beyond the collection presentation and into the surrounding neighborhood.

A florist, café, Japanese konbini-inspired market, immersive installations, an exclusive Fall/Winter 2026 pop-up, and the Spring/Summer 2027 showroom came together to celebrate the house’s enduring connection to Paris while introducing NIGO’s latest collection.

Representing ELETOM Magazine during Paris Fashion Week, photographer Marion Félicité stepped inside the immersive experience to capture the quieter moments that often unfold beyond the runway. Her photographs reveal not only the collection, but the atmosphere surrounding it—one in which craftsmanship, storytelling, and community were given equal importance.

A Celebration Beyond the Runway

Rather than presenting the collection within a traditional showroom experience, KENZO created an environment that encouraged exploration. Visitors moved between fashion, design, food, and lifestyle, reflecting the open, cross-cultural creative spirit that has long defined the maison.

The presentation felt intimate and considered, allowing garments and accessories to be appreciated at a slower pace than the runway typically permits.

The ELETOM Edit: What defined the collection

One of the collection’s most memorable expressions came not from a single accessory, but from the dialogue between garment and bag. Printed with hand-illustrated scenes of Place des Victoires, the oversized fringed tote echoed the matching jacket, transforming a familiar Parisian landmark into a wearable narrative.

Rather than treating the accessory as an afterthought, KENZO integrated it into the look itself, reinforcing the collection’s celebration of place, memory, and craftsmanship. The soft fringe introduced movement, while the oversized proportions gave the piece a relaxed confidence that felt unmistakably modern.

The ELETOM Edit:
Among the accessories presented, this was the collection’s most poetic piece… a reminder that the strongest luxury design often tells a story before a logo ever does.

A Dialogue in Contrast

One of the collection’s most memorable looks paired a cropped crimson knit hoodie emblazoned with “70.” This is a subtle nod to KENZO’s founding in 1970 and the knit hoodie is styled with a cascading floral ruffle skirt that moved effortlessly through the space.

The juxtaposition felt quintessentially NIGO. Collegiate influences met romantic femininity, while archival references were reimagined through a contemporary lens. Rather than competing, the contrasting elements worked together to create a silhouette that felt playful, youthful, and unmistakably KENZO.

The ELETOM Edit

This look captured one of the collection’s central ideas: that elegance and ease need not exist at opposite ends of the wardrobe. It was nostalgic without feeling retrospective and expressive without sacrificing wearability.

A Study in Color

At first glance, the silhouette is understated. If the viewer looks closer, however, the details begin to emerge.

A fluid striped dress in deep saturated shades of yellow, navy, red, and sky blue offers a vibrant interpretation of everyday dressing, while a sculptural floral necklace introduces a touch of artisanal craftsmanship. Together, they embody one of the collection’s defining ideas: that bold color need not compete with elegance.

There is an ease to the look that feels unmistakably KENZO. Confident without excess, and it reflects the house’s longstanding belief that fashion should inspire joy.

The ELETOM Edit

This was one of the collection’s quiet standouts. The restrained silhouette allowed the color story and handcrafted jewelry to take center stage, creating a look that feels as relevant beyond Fashion Week as it does within it.

The ELETOM Perspective: More Than a Collection

Beyond the garments, La Fête de Kenzo revealed the house’s broader creative universe. A playful konbini-inspired market, branded packaging, floral installations, and thoughtfully curated displays transformed the presentation into an immersive cultural experience rather than a conventional showroom.

It was a reminder that today’s most compelling fashion houses don’t simply present collections—they create worlds.

What Marion captured through her lens was more than a seasonal presentation. Her photography documents the quieter rhythm of Fashion Week—the moments where craftsmanship, atmosphere, and storytelling emerge beyond the pace of the runway.

Under NIGO’s direction, KENZO continues to honor the optimistic spirit of Kenzo Takada while confidently shaping its future. La Fête de Kenzo reflected that philosophy beautifully: welcoming, imaginative, and deeply connected to the cultural dialogue that has defined the maison for more than five decades.

The strongest collections invite us to look closer.

Rather than relying solely on spectacle, KENZO’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation found its strength in thoughtful details, cultural exchange, and a joyful sense of place. Through Marion Félicité’s photography, La Fête de Kenzo becomes more than a Fashion Week event—it becomes a reminder that great fashion is not only seen, but experienced.
