When two creatives join forces with their own unique (if not enhanced) collections, the power they exude together could only amaze fashion and local artisan enthusiasts alike. That was the case for contemporary designers and colleagues Jo Ann Bitagcol and Ivarluski Aseron when they decided to collaborate and show their respective brands at a bright gallery-like pop-up space located at the Powerplant Mall.

An idea born over dinner, this collaboration has allowed them to showcase their distinct designs and creative philosophy, culminating in its own compelling storytelling and intent.
Upon first glance at their store, the simple text of BITAGCOL and IVARLUSKI on opposite panes of the stall was straightforward to the eye. Signature ready-to-wear clothing from each designer was worn by mannequins throughout the space, serving as a warm and exciting introduction to their collaboration.

Racks and shelves of clothing on each side of the space, along with Bitagcol’s artwork, such as framed camisas, further unveil their art, from Ivarluski’s unisex separates to Jo Ann’s updated classics. This highlights the designers’ exceptional work and meticulous attention to detail.
Connecting the Puzzle Pieces
Ivarluski’s collection centers on versatile separates for both men and women. Jigsaw-shaped details grace the hems of classic white shirts, inspired by his childhood days and close connections. More specifically, his nephew, who falls on the autism spectrum, is represented by puzzle pieces symbolizing their relationship.

Layered textures, such as checkered tulle over pleats, create a sense of geometry and depth within a muted color palette of greys, whites, and blacks. These selections are mix-and-match, with a wide range of skirts to choose from.
Reimagined Classics
Bitagcol’s collection highlights novelty among the existing pieces she identifies as classics. Boxy tops transformed into camisa chinos, a modern take on the traditional Filipino collarless shirt, adorned with her signature barong prints. She also showcases a sporty kimono crafted from handwoven piña with an intricate hand-beaded design. Another reinvented classic!

Alongside the kimonos were detachable pleated sleeves that could be worn with other items of clothing. This was featured in Ternocon. Skirts, more tops, and pants with Bitagcol’s own play on color, pattern, and print. Let’s not forget her beautiful lace dresses, modern takes on formal wear featuring the designer’s Terno Terno print.
The Ivarluski x Bitgacol Pop Up Collection runs from December 2025 until February 2026. Get a glimpse and experience their seasonal collaboration at R2 Powerplant Mall, Rockwell Center, Makati.
