Located across the lush greenery of the Ayala Triangles Park and situated on the first floor of the iconic Peninsula Hotel, Michael Leyva unveiled his flagship atelier in the most refined manner. In attendance were close friends, muses, and prestigious names who all spoke of and supported Leyva’s prowess as one of the ones to watch in the evolution of Philippine fashion as a world-class entity to be recognized.
Michael Leyva’s new space is a curated sanctuary of design—where beauty intersects with modernity, and every creation is a testament to Filipino craftsmanship at its finest. Upon entry, a little outdoor veranda offers a peek inside his creations, housing some of the most iconic gowns worn by his muses. Most notably displayed are Leyva’s shining red Filipiniana (formal gown) of the First Lady of the Philippines, Louise Araneta-Marcos, and the stunning gowns worn by global fashion icon Heart Evangelista.
The designer himself reflects on this milestone achievement. “This atelier is the realization of a dream,” shares Michael Leyva. “To open within The Peninsula Manila — an icon of grace, opulence, and legacy — is a deep honor. I wanted to create a special and fashionable space for the people who inspire me: my muses and clients, who have become dear friends and who have helped me immerse myself in this industry and pushed me to where I am today.”
The opening of this 125 square meter space embodies Leyva’s vision for a world-class fashion experience rooted in culture, values, and creativity. With soft neutral textures, iconic art pieces, and custom-made interiors, the atelier offers an intimate and contemporary atmosphere. Designed for personalized service and private fittings, it also showcases the designer’s most celebrated works in an elegant gallery setting.
The grand opening was attended by Manila’s most stylish and influential figures, who witnessed a ribbon-cutting ceremony and the traditional shop blessing. The celebration marked not just the launch of a new retail space, but the dawn of a new era for Philippine haute couture.
