Following her stellar performance on Nine Perfect Strangers starring alongside Nicole Kidman, Golden Globe Nominee and BAFTA Awardee Dolly de Leon further solidifies her international reach with her upcoming role as Lo and Li in Netflix’s live-action depiction of Avatar: The Last Airbender. 

It would be de Leon’s first foray into playing a dualistic role, playing the wizened twin firebending mentors to Princess Azula ( Elizabeth Yu ),  Zuko’s younger sister, and one of the main antagonists of the series. She will be joined by Hadestown & Miss Saigon alumnus Jon Jon Briones, who was tapped to play Sokka ( Ian Luke Ousley ) ‘s swordmaster, Piandao. 

Deemed a worthy homage to the Nickelodeon original series created by animators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko. With its stunning cinematography and action sequences, the live-action series became an instant hit among longtime fans and new watchers alike. The first season covered Book One: Water, which covers Aang’s reawakening and the introduction of each tribe. The following seasons will cover Book Two: Earth and Book Three: Fire, which follows Aang, played by Gordon Cormier – on his journey to mastering all four elements before confronting the Fire Nation on its quest for world domination.
