I grew up always knowing I wanted to do something in the creative world. It has literally coursed through me since I was a little girl.
Raised amidst the serene landscapes of Wyoming, Sara’s curiosity knew no bounds. Reflecting on her formative years, Sara reminisces, “Growing up in Wyoming presented its challenges, but I was able to explore who I am, my dreams, and what I desire for my future.” This thirst for discovery led her to pursue Graphic Design at Western Washington University, where she delved into various creative disciplines, including a transformative stint in Florence, Italy.
Sara has transcended the confines of a conventional career path, curiously venturing into uncharted territories. “My creativity wasn’t limited to one career path or one form of art,” she asserts. This appetite for expression propelled her to co-found GYST Creative. “I started my agency with my best friend, GYST Creative… helping businesses get their sh!t together vis-à-vis their branding and messaging,” she shares. She created our visual identity at ELETOM and has brought our brand to life in many ways. Artistry is an essential element of graphic design, and creating a brand identity adds layers of vision. Sara masterfully embodies a vision and communicates through visual mediums.
However, Sara’s journey extends far beyond the realm of graphic design. Embracing the unexpected twists of fate, she found herself drawn back to her roots in Wyoming during the pandemic. Little did she anticipate that this return would begin a new chapter intertwined with love and adventure. “A few months after being home, I met my fiancé, Sam,” she reveals joyfully. Together, they find inspiration in the most unlikely of places. “We started to build a life together full of new adventures. I soon realized that I could be creative wherever I was, and I craved discovering new things, people, and places I wouldn’t expect to inspire me,” she reports.
While graphic design remains her bread and butter, Sara’s artistic evolution is expressed in many projects. “Sam and I own a couple of rental properties here in Wyoming that I have been able to put my creative interior design touch on and get my hands dirty helping with the renovations.” From infusing her creative flair into home design to embarking on bespoke hat-making in Italy, she continues to defy expectations and redefine her artistic identity. “I am forever evolving as an artist and discovering new ventures,” she affirms.
